Dark fleet
A dark fleet is a set of vessels that deliberately disable or spoof AIS to hide their location and activity — frequently older tankers moving sanctioned cargo. Overwatch flags AIS gaps (dark events), correlates them with nearby traffic, STS proximity, ownership chains, and sanctions screening to surface vessels analysts should review.
